The Hunday Times #1: An Introduction
Hiya Hun, if you’re reading this, welcome to The Hunday Times!
This blog is going to be a more long-form, written-down version of my Instagram content. Think fitness meets pop culture. I aim to inspire people to get moving, and break down the barriers to fitness, all whilst having fun!
Online culture can make fitness seem like it’s only for people with six packs, and tans, and who seem to spend most of their time in Australia. But the truth of it is, fitness is for EVERYBODY. They just don’t want you to know that, because they profit from the gatekeeping.
Fitness doesn’t have to be all Hyrox and Marathons. It can be gentle, and fun, and easy-going. I always say, it’s not that deep! As long as you move your body in a way that feels good for you, THAT’S what fitness is about.
It could be a 10 minute dance party in the kitchen, or a walk outdoors, or following a youtube video at home. If it makes you feel good, it’s worth doing. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
The Hun behind this blog…
Hiya, I’m Phoebe, aka @afitnesshun.
I grew up NOT SPORTY - I cannot stress that enough. I was in bottom set PE, always last to be picked, and walked cross country every year.
I started going to the gym when I was at one of my lowest points mentally. I reached out to an online PT because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.
The gym to me felt like the Pridelands under Scar’s reign; a barren wasteland full of grunting hyenas— sorry- men.
But the online coach simplified everything for me, and before I knew it, I was suddenly enjoying going to the gym. Which was a SHOCK, believe me.
Cut to a few years later, and fitness has turned my mental (and physical) health around.
My anxiety is so much more manageable, and I was inspired to help people in the same way my PT helped me, so I pursued my Level 3 qualification in personal training.
And so was the birth of The Fitness Huns!
Aren’t blogs a bit… old school?
I like to think of them as chic.
Bring back the written word! Bring back letters! Bring back blogs!
It’s very Carrie Bradshaw/Bella Swan writing emails to Alice in New Moon-core, which we love x
Plus, social media as we know it isn’t for everyone. And my mission is all about making fitness for EVERYONE.
A Fitness Hun’s Number Ones:
-
TaTu - All The Things She Said.
Is this because of Heated Rivalry? Yes. Have I stopped listening to it since? No.
But honestly, I’ve put this song into some of my spin class playlists and it’s gone down SO well. It’s a perfect for a hot-hun walk, the last km of a run, pre-drinks, a kitchen dance, morning alarm - literally EVERYTHING.
10/10.

The award goes to Tiffany Pollard. It’s been TEN YEARS since her iconic Big Brother monologue - which I will absolutely be reciting on my death bed.
-
Make your training as productive as your rest. Your training sessions can only be as good as your rest is!
Drink plenty of water! Get good sleep! See your friends! Eat nutritious food! Stretch! Touch grass!

It’s Valentine’s Day this week, so in the words of RuPaul - “if you can’t love yourself, how the hell are you gonna love somebody else?’
This week’s playlist is all about SELF LOVE!

Hunday Steps Club #2
Sunday 22nd February, 11:45am, 15 Grams Blackheath
On the last Sunday of every month, the huns take to the streets of London for a hot-hun walk! The Hunday Steps Club is your alternative to run clubs. Who’s to say you can run a 5km? Or you even want to? The Steps Club is a genuine ‘party pace’, where you can walk, talk, and make new friends! We start at a coffee shop, end at a pub, all whilst exploring new areas of London. What’s not to love? Info below ⬇️
We’re doing Hunday Steps Club #2 with Jig and a Swig, a London-based Irish dancing group! We have a shared mission - get people moving in a way that feels GOOD.
Melia Moves Run Club
I’m hosting a run club with Melia White House! Join me for a 5km jog round Regent’s Park on Tuesday 24th February, 6:30pm.
We’ll go at a chill, slow pace, and stop to walk as many times as people need!
That’s all for now huns, I’ll leave you with a Carrie Bradshaw inspired quote…
“And I couldn’t help but wonder... are we all chasing self improvement? Or are we just emotionally attached to suffering?”
